Evocation of nouveau ideas & thoughts for a better living
In an increasingly complex and chaotic world, where more things are obscured than revealed, when its becoming unclear who’s right and who’s not or it’s becoming clear that those who are claiming to be right are not, it helps to listen to different voices and opinions. Because even if we watch or witness the same things, we don’t see the same. Let’s learn to draw our own conclusions and walk on our own instead of being drawn down narrow paths by dubious narratives. Let’s try to live better for a brighter future for us, our future generations and all life on this vibrant planet.
In a world that has more human beings in it than ever before, we find ourselves increasingly isolated and lonely. With advanced technologies that should have brought us closer, we search for reasons to be exclusive, rather than integrated. While we fight for our rights as human beings, we are fighting more for our “groups”, exclusive of everyone else. We look for reasons to taunt, hate and exclude; we seldom seek common grounds. If nothing else exists to exemplify our exclusivity, there is always classism, genderism and ageism to fall back on. The result is the world we see now – tottering on the edge of one disaster after another, requiring nothing more than a spark of hatred to blaze into raging fires.
My blog is my reasoning against such thoughts and actions, for a deeper digging into what’s behind the carefully crafted empty words and actions that defy the words and human logic. It’s my attempt to find solutions for current issues and better ways to live a more fulfilling peaceful life.
Starting a blog to share my thoughts on this world, has been in the back of my mind for many decades. Time was of course, a constraint but more pertinent was the doubt I had, that I’d be writing to an empty space. If there’s no reader, why write? But now, I feel that I have to express my thoughts and transfer them from dog-eared yellowing pages to digital pages, regardless of finding the right audience or the consequence of not.
Much of my writing is my observations and reactions on everyday life, the current affairs around the world and my country, India, in particular. Most of it is based on what I’ve gleaned of events over many years, drawing conclusions based on research, wherever available. Some thoughts, though, are purely speculative and marked as such. This is because many of the events in the recent past and the present are brought to us in a controlled, overpowering narrative and no amount of research can, at times, penetrate the shrouds covering the truth. Maybe we need to be part of some “exclusive” clubs/associations to be deemed worthy of “handling the truth”. Nevertheless, I think that the layers can be peeled off, one by one, starting with questioning the narrative. Then we go on a journey of studying the layers, the players, their behaviors, what drives them, who gains what, and so on, until we can reach at the truth, probably like an irrational number reaching a conclusion. Ultimately though, we all know, that the base of most strife is greed and corruption.
I’ve segregated the blog contents into two parts – Standard Blogs and Premium Blogs. Standard Blogs are accessible to all readers and deal mostly with matters related to our everyday life – our environment, sustainable living, budgeting, travel, books/serials/movies/music, health, science and so on. Readers can subscribe for weekly newsletters also. Premium blog posts are made available for subscribers who have opted for paid subscriptions on Monthly(INR 3000), Quarterly(INR 8000 with 11% discount), Half-Yearly (INR 15,000 – 14% discount) and Annual (INR 30,000 – 17% discount) tiers. Premium subscribers get access to articles on current affairs like politics(geo/gender/local/national/global), religion, war and so on, in addition to the Standard blog posts. Why put such a premium on these articles? Because these are issues which are frequently used to inflame emotions and get people to war on each other. It covers subject matters which are contentious and my opinions on them are, well, contentious. Open rational discussions on such matters are necessary to resolve them but to ensure that these discussions don’t degenerate into a slug fest, it needs closer monitoring and smaller groups. So I’m keeping(attempting to, to be precise) it out of reach of easily-riled individuals whose weapons include abusive language and threats to my person/s.
While I firmly believe that I have my right to my opinions, my beliefs and opinions are not set on stone. I welcome open discussions and suggestions on all of my content. You may reach me through your comments in the blog or reach out to me at my email ID …………….. Let’s go on a meandering journey through life, trying to find common grounds to make our lives and living better.
